Instructions
- 1Season the chicken pieces with smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- 2Heat olive oil in a large (12-inch) oven-safe skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add chicken and sear until browned on all sides, about 4-5 minutes. Remove chicken from the pan and set aside.
- 3Add diced onion and red bell pepper to the same pan. Sauté over medium heat until softened, about 5-7 minutes. Add minced garlic and harissa paste, cooking for another minute until fragrant.
- 4Pour in the chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Bring to a simmer.
- 5Reduce heat to low. Add the softened cream cheese and whisk continuously until it has melted completely and the sauce is smooth. Stir in the heavy cream.
- 6Return the seared chicken to the pan. Add the gnocchi, stirring gently to combine and ensure the gnocchi is submerged in the sauce.
- 7Increase heat to medium-low and simmer, uncovered, for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the gnocchi is tender and the sauce has thickened.
- 8Stir in the fresh spinach until it wilts, about 1-2 minutes.
- 9Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Garnish with fresh cilantro or parsley before serving.
