Instructions

  1. 1In a bowl, combine the self-raising flour and Greek yogurt. Mix until a bouncy dough forms.
  2. 2In a separate bowl, combine the ground beef mince with the chopped chives, soy sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, minced garlic, black pepper, and granulated sugar. Mix until well combined.
  3. 3Lightly flour your work surface.
  4. 4Slice the dough into four equal pieces.
  5. 5Roll out each dough piece into a circular wrapper.
  6. 6Place a spoonful of the beef filling into the center of each wrapper.
  7. 7Wrap the dough around the filling, sealing the edges to form a bun or dumpling.
  8. 8Place all of your prepared bao buns into a steamer basket.
  9. 9Steam the bao buns for 10-12 minutes, or until cooked through.
  10. 10Optionally, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the steamed bao buns into the pan and fry for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the bottom is crispy and golden brown.
